White Lace Inn February 2003 Newsletter
Winter is often called the “quiet season” in Door County, but things have been anything but quiet at the Inn. We have been hard at work on setting
new room rates and we’re happy to say that we’re ready to share them with you.
Over the past six months or so, we’ve been putting some things in place that we hoped would reduce our overhead at the Inn without affecting any of the special touches that have become favorites of our guests. For example, one of the steps we took last summer was hiring business staff. Over time, that has enabled us to eliminate the cost of expensive outside services. Our goal has been to generate significant savings that we can pass on to you. We are delighted to tell you that we’ve done it! If you go to our
Rooms and Rates page, you will see that our
new reduced rates go into effect on June 1, 2003 and run through May 24,
2004. Take a look – we think you’ll like what you see! Please call us toll free at 877-948-5223 to check
availability and make your reservations.
Lowering rates is just one way for us to thank you for your business. We have some other surprises planned for you this year, so keep watching our newsletter for future announcements. In the meantime, take a look at what’s going on in Sturgeon Bay and Door County this month and
Happy Valentine’s Day!
If you read our newsletter, then you know that we very often highlight the scheduled performances at
Third Avenue Playhouse, Sturgeon Bay’s community theatre. What you may not know is that Dennis is on the theatre’s board. This year he and other board members have volunteered to sit out on the theatre’s marquee on Valentines Day weekend to raise money for TAP. If you are here with us, stop by the theatre and say hi to Dennis. If you don’t get to see him in person, we’ll have a photo in the March newsletter. Let’s hope the temperatures stay above zero!
Every Day is Valentine’s Day…………….
If you and your sweetheart aren’t coming to see us on Valentine’s Day, why not think about visiting Door County on some of those other 27 days in February? Our
Winter White Sale rates are in effect through April 26 so you can enjoy a blazing fire or a soak in a whirlpool tub for as low as
$99 per night on weekends (Friday/Saturday) and $69 on weeknights (Sunday through Thursday). A
gift certificate might also be a nice surprise for your Valentine.
Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland………….
After an unusually dry January, snow has arrived in Sturgeon Bay and Door County! This is a lovely time of year to explore some of the most beautiful backroads and trails in the state. Many parks are planning candlelight ski outings and hikes. If you’re in the mood for a good workout, try
snow shoeing. Or if you just want to take in the beauty of the snow-covered
trees and fields, maybe a sleigh ride or a carriage ride is the right choice for you. Whatever you do, bring your camera and enjoy the striking contrast of blue skies and
snow-white landscape or the transforming beauty of a winter sunset.
Our sources tell us that over 100,000 people visit Door County every winter. What do they do? Well, besides cuddling up in front of a cozy fire at the Inn, here are some other ideas:
