The White Lace Inn April 2004 Newsletter
Winter's done, and April's in the skies,
March, true to form, swept in like a lion and crept out like a lamb. Now as April makes her entrance, crocuses and daffodils are pushing their way up through the ground and the temperatures are climbing with encouraging regularity to spring-like levels. Spring showers are going about their annual business, washing away the last of the snow and freshening the landscape for the bounty of beauty to come. And, at the White Lace Inn, April showers not only bring May flowers – they also bring special savings for you!
In fact, April is the last month for our Winter White Sale! White Sale rates are in effect through May 1. Enjoy a blazing fire or a bubbling whirlpool on a cool spring evening for as low as $99 per night on weekends (Friday and Saturday) and $70 per night on weekdays (Sunday through Thursday). Of course, all stays include our delicious full breakfast. Give us a call toll free at 877-948-5223 to make your reservation. And read on to see what the first full month of spring has in store for you!
Off the Beaten Path……………
Whatever you do, it’s Spring, so just get out there!
A Fish Story
You can see Julian Hagen and his Washington Island Friends at the Door Auditorium in Fish Creek on April 3. This concert is part of the Fireside Coffee House Series. Tickets are $12. For more information, contact the Auditorium at 920-868-2728.
On April 24, Third Avenue Playhouse presents Grammy winner, Janis Ian. She exploded onto the music scene in the ‘70’s with “Society’s Child” and the classic “At Seventeen.” Don’t miss this opportunity to see one of America’s great and enduring troubadours. For tickets, call 920-743-1760.
In the mood for more garden talk? On April 30, the Friends of Door County Libraries and Door County Master Gardeners will present Joan Rivera, author of “Creating a Perennial Garden in the Midwest” at the Miller Art Museum, 7:00 PM. Admission is free. There will be a book signing after the lecture.
As always, don’t forget to visit our Dancing Bear gift shop on Third Avenue. When you stop in, take a look at our new Thomas the Train play table. Thanks to our guests and customers, the Bear sells so much Thomas merchandise that they receive a new table each year from the manufacturer. This year, they donated last year’s play table to the YMCA for use in their Family Center and Day Care are. In previous years, play tables have been donated to Project HeadStart, the Free Clinic, the Sturgeon Bay School District and the Southern Door School District.
