Daffodils are sprouting
in the morning dew
Robin hunts his breakfast
under skies of blue

Yes, daffodils are sprouting all around the Door County peninsula.
It’s spring! The trees are blossoming, the grass is green and the sky is
blue. What a beautiful time for a drive along the shore of Green Bay
through the villages of Egg Harbor, Fish Creek and Sister Bay. Take time
to climb the tower at Peninsula State Park and look down at tree tops just
beginning to burst into new leaf. The splash of spring pastels painting
the tree tops at this time of year is breathtaking. Turn south and follow
the lake shore through Baileys Harbor and Jacksonport, picking up Glidden
Drive south of Cave Point Park and ride through the woodlands to see the
wild flowers: violets, trilliums, spring beauty, lady slippers and others
which rival the daffodils, tulips, cherry and apple blossoms. A ride to
Door County is worth your time for the scenery, but stay awhile and
experience some of the special events planned for May.
First,
take a website tour of the White Lace Inn
to see our 18 private rooms many with whirlpools and automatic gas
fireplaces. Check out the Garden House with six rooms with real wood
fireplaces. Remember winter rates continue through June 18.
Choose a room then call toll free 877-948-5223 and talk to Dennis and
Bonnie or anyone of the White Lace Inn family to make your reservation.
When you check in, our innkeepers, Mary, Marcia or Cherie will show you to
your room. After you are settled in, come to the parlor to enjoy a cup of
coffee, tea or cider and a White Lace Inn cookie while you look through
our basket of menus from the many fine restaurants in the area. The
innkeepers will help you with directions to the restaurant of your choice
and the place of your evening entertainment. Maybe take in one of the many
fine features at the Third Avenue Playhouse.
