We sit in the shade and feel quite well
as the sap creeps up and the blossoms swell.
We may shut our eyes, but canít help knowing
that skies are clear and grass is growing.
The breeze comes whispering in our ear,
that dandelions are blossoming near.
Corn has sprouted, streams are flowing,
the Lake is bluer than the sky,
and the robin is building his house near byÖ

June, what a beautiful time in Door County! The skies are blue with swells of white mounting the hills. Are they billowing clouds or the cherry and apple orchards in bloom?Photo by Tony Hodges, Legacy Photography  Memorial Day celebrated the coming season with all kinds of trees, orchards and woods in color and wild cherry and others decorating the landscape.

As the bright sun shines down on the bay and the lake, white clouds float in the blue sky. It is always a good time for a visit to Door County, but there is something about June that lifts the spirit as new life brings the green leaves out of the barren branches. The roses and other flowers will draw you to the White Lace Inn garden with a good book to relax in the shade of the maple trees while you take a break from a busy life. So plan a trip to renew your spirit.

Take a Virtual Photo Tour of the White Lace Inn; check out the rooms in the Hadley and Washburn Houses with their whirlpools and automatic gas fireplaces for the cool evening or early morning warmth. Then call the White Lace Inn at 920-743-1105 and talk to Dennis, Bonnie or any one of the innkeepers to make your reservation early. The houses fill fast as the many events of June draw visitors to Door County.

June 11th Jackson Browne, National Hall of Fame artist, and Wisconsinís Pat MacDonald combine their talents in a free concert to help preserve the Michigan Street Bridge in Sturgeon Bay and in celebration of the 75th birthday of that historic bridge.
