The White Lace Inn August 2003 Newsletter
Did you know that August is National Romance Month? It’s true! And how nice to have an excuse to celebrate romance a full six months before Valentine’s Day! Come see us and enjoy Door County’s warm sunny days and crisp cool evenings. We’ve even had a few nights recently that were cool enough for a fire! Spend your days browsing through our shops and galleries or exploring our 250 miles of scenic shoreline. At night, enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner at one of our gourmet restaurants, stroll along the bay and take in the beauty of a summer sunset and then return to your room for a relaxing whirlpool. In the morning, feast on one of our homemade breakfasts and get ready to do it all over again! Give us a
call toll free at 877-948-5223 and plan a romantic getaway for August – or anytime!
We’re in the Pink!!
Thanks to all of you who were kind enough to respond to the
Painting Poll in our July newsletter. We were delighted at the number of you who took time to vote and also touched by the comments we received. Clearly many of our guests have fond memories of time spent in the Main House and feel strongly that pink is our signature color.
Leaving the Main House color scheme “as is” won by a landslide! Yellow came in second, with green a distant third. The motto of that exercise seems to be: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” Painters are working away on the third story as we speak and the Main House will soon be
resplendant in fresh shades of pink, raspberry and cream!
While We’re On the Subject…………..
You were such a big help to us in solving our painting dilemma that we’ve decided to pick your brains on another issue. Here at the Inn, we’re always trying to come up with ways to show our guests how much we appreciate them. Over the years, we’ve experimented with several small welcome gifts such as cookies, soaps and ornaments. We’ve also given away many White Lace Inn mugs and pens. Recently we’ve been discussing the merits of implementing some kind of reward program for repeat guests. We have our own ideas about what might appeal to you, but we’d like to have your thoughts to make sure we’re on the right track. So, as a guest, what would you like to see?
Vote below or add your own ideas with an E-mail to email@example.com.
Watch for the results in our September Newsletter.
Thank you and have fun with it!
Summer Days…………..and Oh, Those Summer Nights!
Croquet, anyone? This is not the game you remember from childhood. Real croquet is played on a large court with narrow wickets, is a team sport and is often characterized as combining the elements of billiards, chess and war! Games are played Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Leathem Smith Lodge. Call Roger at 743-3938 for more information regarding participation – or grab your lawn chair and head over to watch a match!
Visit Popelka Trenchard Glass Studio’s fine glass gallery. Popelka and his wife, Stephanie Trenchard, make cast glass art which is shown across the country at 15 galleries. Studio demonstrations are conducted from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Wednesdays, May through October.
