The goldenrod is yellow
The corn is turning brown
The frost is on the pumpkin
The dew is on the ground.

Remember that bit of poetry describing the coming of autumn? We could add many more descriptive phrases for Door County. The fields of soybeans are now turning yellow, while the corn is lush green after the recent refreshing rains that ended our early summer drought. Along county roads a few red and yellow leaves decorate the maple trees and the sumac.

Geese gather in harvested oat fields to glean what the combines missed. White clouds decorate the blue sky and help to paint spectacular sunsets over the waters of Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. Itís a good time to enjoy a Sunset Concert cruise. Leaving from the Gills Rock dock, the three-hour cruise along Door Countyís western shore includes dinner and live music.
