Some
residents of Door County become snowbirds in November; the streets are
quite, the towns serene, resting after the summer and autumn rush.
The foliage this fall has been spectacular, more beautiful than many can remember in past years. Cosmos, mums and roses were still blooming in the White Lace Inn garden on the first of November. The fish in the garden pond still swim under sunny blue skies. The first of Jack Frost’s work was later than usual this year and right afterwards we saw the long Vs of geese in the sky. We are starting to decorate the Inn for the holidays but
we are going to enjoy this beautiful weather as long as possible. November weather is often kind to
Door County right up to Thanksgiving Day. There have actually been
years when we wondered if we would have a white Christmas! It is time to plan your late fall get away. Check out the list of what’s going on and then check room availability. Many of our rooms have fireplaces, real wood or gas, with warm dancing flames at the touch of a button or turn of a switch. Our wood fireplaces are all set up for you with logs and easy starter packs. Then sit back and dream or create new memories with your sweetheart. The sky is bluer in November, the sunrises and sunsets more spectacular, the lake and bay take on an awesome hue.
