If you’re like us, you’re probably a bit dazed to discover that
Christmas is a mere 23 days away. It’s so easy at this time of year to feel overwhelmed and overextended and to lose sight of the real meaning of the holiday. There are cards to send, gifts to buy, packages to wrap and mail, office parties and family get togethers to plan – the list gets pretty long, pretty fast! You may be thinking that the last thing you have time for right now is travel, but we beg to differ – and so does

If you’ve been reading our newsletters, you know that we think Christmas shopping in Sturgeon Bay and Door County is a truly appealing alternative to crowded,
 noisy malls. Well, it seems that
USA Today has taken a look at us and thinks you should, too! In an article published on
Friday, November 29, USA Today named Door County one of "10
great places to buy directly from artisans". The paper had high
praise for the old- fashioned Christmas experience of our charming specialty shops, unique

We couldn’t agree with them more! Why not exchange the crowds, the traffic and the hectic pace for an unhurried stroll through beautifully decorated stores and streets while the smells of cider and evergreen boughs mingle in the winter air? After shopping, have a relaxing dinner at one of our fine restaurants. And, of course, end your evening in one of our inviting guest rooms, enjoying a blazing fire or a soothing soak in a whirlpool tub. We have been busy decorating the Inn from top to bottom and things are looking pretty darn festive, if we do say so ourselves! We think it’s the perfect way to put an end to your holiday blues and have you belting out “Deck the Halls” before you know it.

………………..our Holiday Special Rates are in effect for the weekends of December 6 & 7, December 13 & 14 and December 20 & 21.
We’ve taken $35 per night off of our weekend rates which means that our Friday and Saturday rates for these
weekends start as low as $99!! Our winter rates are already in effect so our
weekday rates are an amazing bargain at $69 - $159 a night. That’s $45 to $65 less than our high season Sunday through Thursday rates.
As if that’s not enough to smooth those furrowed holiday brows, we are offering
a 20% discount at the Dancing Bear, our gift shop in town, when you stay with us anytime
