White Lace Inn -- we're always here when you need us . . . .open every night of the year

April is usually a sign of the end of winter, the beginning of warmer weather, blue skies and sunshine. So today we woke up to a dusting of snow and 30 degree temperatures. What is wrong, you might ask? Well, we are keeping the faith that our spring expectations are right around the corner. Some perennials are trying to break through the ground but they just need a little help in the form of 50+ degrees. As we have seen throughout the country, no one has escaped unusual weather this year. This is a good time to spend a night or 2 or more with us, enjoy the great rates and quiet days . Reserve a room or suite with fireplace, whirlpool or both. Book now and experience the warm hospitality throughout Door County. Catch the end of winter sales at our retailers or, towards the middle of the month, be the first to browse the new items being stocked for the Festival of Blossoms in May.

We invite you to spend some time with us at the White Lace Inn and let us have fun sharing our lives with you. Come once and you will know why we have so many repeat guests. Why not become part of our family and start a tradition of your own? Come up and enjoy a get-a-way in beautiful Sturgeon Bay. Have breakfast with us in the morning and then explore the shops, galleries and museums that are only a couple of blocks away. Come back to your room and relax before dining in one of the many restaurants we have to offer. Let our Innkeeper recommend a place to eat and also make your reservation for you. Call us and reserve your room. You will be glad you did! Come and experience why Money Magazine voted Door County as one of the top 10 vacation destinations in North America. April is a great time of the year to check out the new exhibits at the museums and galleries
that Sturgeon Bay and the county have to offer. Door County's signature ambience of "culture in the country" results from its mix of beautiful scenery and a lively arts scene. Painters, potters, sculptors, craftsmen, weavers, and performers reflect and enhance the natural wonders of the Door County peninsula. From your room at the White Lace Inn you can walk to the Miller Art Museum, the Fairfield Center for Contemporary Art and Popelka Trenchard Art Gallery and Glass Studio. A short drive across the bridge, (or stroll if you are up to it) and you will be at the Door County Maritime Museum. All of these facilities are open year 'round. Take a walk in one of our many parks and watch nature come to life after her long winter nap. Bring your gloves and hat; our temperatures are still a little brisk!

There is plenty to do in April for everyone. Performances at Third Avenue Playhouse, visiting our five wineries, museum exhibits, progressive dinners and trolley rides and horse and carriage trips are just a few of the offerings. Your room at the White Lace Inn is just a phone call away! Enjoy the warmth of a fireplace and relax in a whirlpool after your day of activities. We have so many rooms and suites to choose from. Wood burning or gas fireplace, we have your preference. Quaint room or large king suite, we have them both. Stay at the Main House where your breakfast is served every morning or try one of the three other houses that are located a short walk through the garden. Each house is special in itself. April in Door County is a favorite month for most of us who live here full time. Watching the snow recede and knowing that the blossoms will soon be showing their colors gives us that little boost of energy. Come stay with us this month and we will make your favorite White Lace Inn breakfast; just call in advance and we'll put it on the menu. Try the recipe of the month, Mary's Cherry Granola, at home for your family to enjoy. Serve with yogurt as a side breakfast dish with your eggs and a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. For your convenience, all of our recipes are shared with you online. While you are here, indulge in our world-renowned homemade White Lace Inn cookies . The cookie jar in the parlor is bottomless! Well ... almost ...

Live Music, Popcorn and Beverages, compliments of Dennis and Bonnie, every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm! The well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlor picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings, year 'round.  Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in.  Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long relaxing weekend you deserve!
