April is usually a sign of the end of winter, the beginning of warmer weather, blue skies and sunshine. Well, we have the blue skies and the sunshine, but March came in like a lion and out - yep, like a lion. Hopefully it was our last winter storm that left us with a few inches of snow over the weekend .Today is a cool sunny spring morning. Some perennials are trying to break through the ground but they just need a little help in the form of 50+ degrees. We are anxious for the weather to cooperate, as we spruce up the gardens for the Parade of Ponds event being held June 27, 2009. www.ParadeOfPondsDoorCounty.com We will be one of 19 gardens and ponds to be featured this year, and very proud to be invited! Come visit us this month and follow our progress, as we clean away the leaves and discover the returning perennials, reopen the pond, and put in new plantings. It's Spring Fling and we mean it! The well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlor picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings, year 'round. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in.
