July arrived with spectacular weather and promises of more to come in the next few weeks. If you have not been here in a while, you will notice right away the great changes made in our Sturgeon Bay Third Avenue shopping district. The streets were completely redone last month, including sidewalks and lighting. Still to be completed are the plantings of new trees. Walk down from the White Lace Inn and visit these shops; let the retailers know how wonderful everything looks. It was a huge project and the results have improved the downtown streetscape wonderfully. Another reason to be proud that Sturgeon Bay was chosen one of the top 10 cities in Wisconsin by Wonders of Wisconsin. There is plenty to do in July for everyone. Performances at Third Avenue Playhouse, visiting our five wineries, museum exhibits, progressive dinners and trolley rides and horse and carriage trips are just a few of the offerings. Your room at the White Lace Inn is just a phone call away! Enjoy the warmth of a fireplace and relax in a whirlpool after your day of activities. We have so many rooms and suites to choose from. Wood burning or gas fireplace, we have your preference. Quaint room or large king suite, we have them both. July in Door County offers a plethora of activities to choose from. We all look forward to the farmers markets, the concerts, the start up of American Folklore Theatre's outdoor performances, the new season of Peninsula Players, seeing old friends again and making some new ones. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in. Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long relaxing weekend you deserve!
