The summer months are beginning to wind down and the
weather has been perfect so far in August. We are starting to see the
annual slowing down of visitors as kids return to college and the younger
ones get ready for the upcoming school year. August is the perfect time to
catch a sale at your favorite retail shop, take in a live performance at
the American Folklore Theatre and enjoy the harvest at the local farmers
markets. Cherries, sweet corn, melons and zucchini are the flavors of the
month. Little Shop of Horrors is the current production at Peninsula
Players through August 19th and and the Door County Fair is here through
August 12th. Take a candlelight beach walk at Whitefish Dunes State Park
on August 18th and return to your favorite room at the
White Lace Inn to relax. The Innkeepers are happy
to recommend a place to have dinner or maybe you would like to order-in
and enjoy a quiet meal on our front porch or in our parlor. Your options
are limitless. Our anniversary year has been memorable so far with many old and new friends returning to spend a night or two with us. Drop us a line about a special time you have had with the White Lace Inn family over the years. We would love to hear from you. Thank you for being a part of our history. Like to cruise? How about some music while you sail along? Book a dinner cruise with Sunset Concert Cruises and enjoy Jazz, Dixieland, Classical and Folk concerts aboard the Island Clipper while touring the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. Enjoy a buffet dinner during your 3 hour narrated tour... . . . a three hour tour, a three hour tour . . . Sing it with me ! Let's hope the 'weather doesn't start getting rough' |

August in Door County.....so much to do, so little time. Last chance to see a live performance outdoors at the American Folklore Theatre, maybe take a ferry over to the Washington Island Fair or enjoy a spectacular performance at Peninsula Music Festival. Museums, galleries, trolley rides, carriage rides, golfing, hiking and boating; try them all. Experience one of the many pubs and restaurants in Sturgeon Bay for lunch or dinner. When you stay with us we will make your favorite White Lace Inn breakfast; just let us know and we'll put it on the menu. Try the recipe of the month, Baked Cherry French Toast at home for your family to enjoy. Stay with us and you can indulge in our world-renown homemade White Lace Inn Chocolate Heath Bar Cookies. The cookie jar in the parlor is bottomless! well ... almost ...
We have vacancies in August and we are offering
great rates! Live Music, Popcorn and Beverages, compliments of Dennis and Bonnie, every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm! The well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlor picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings, year 'round. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in. Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long relaxing weekend you deserve!
Visit the Dancing Bear Gift Shop and have Michele or Marty show you the latest new products. Known for their unique items, this one-of-a-kind gift store has kids' toys, games and books as well as specialty soaps, lotions, Hadley Pottery, greeting cards and so much more. The Dancing Bear Shop has become one of the places to visit on 3rd Avenue, in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay.
