If you are wondering where the summer went, you are not
alone. With Labor Day already upon us, we are looking forward to this
busy weekend that starts the Fall Festival season. We have enjoyed hosting
many guests over the past few months and we are anticipating a fun-filled
autumn as visitors return to the breathtaking panorama of colors now
starting to turn. The golds, yellow and reds have been sighted early this
year so come on up and see us anytime.
Door County is only a few
hours drive from Chicago and Minneapolis and wears the title of "The Cape
Cod of the Midwest" proudly. Come for a night or two or more and see what
we mean. September is a time to visit the Farmers Market on Saturday
mornings and pick up some of our seasonal harvest and locally made
products, tour the county by bike, auto or trolley, take a hike along the
beach or through one of our state parks. Enjoy the quiet time that
September in Door County offers.
Reserve a room at the White Lace Inn; you'll be glad you did. Our 25th anniversary year has been memorable, with many old and new friends returning to spend a night or two with us. Some have sent us a message about a special time they have had with the White Lace Inn family over the years. We would love to hear from you. Thank you for being a part of our history. The Jefferson Street businesses have been creating a new event for Fall ....JAZZ on JEFFERSON STREET. Jazz music will fill the historic Jefferson Street all afternoon and into the evening on Saturday, Sept 8th. Individual businesses will have musicians on their lawns and The Martini's will play under a main tent from 2-5pm. Each distinctive boutique will have complimentary hors d' oeurves and spirits to enhance your shopping experience while enjoying the soft sounds of jazz and the welcoming friendly ambiance of the Jefferson Street Shops. Jeffferson Street is just 2 blocks away from the White Lace Inn so make your reservations now for the weekend and be a part of launching this new event that we hope will become an annual fun time for all. |

September across Door County is quiet time for many of us; time to catch our breath and prepare for October's visitors. Some of us take advantage of this and visit our local shops and restaurants to see what the latest offerings are so we can let our guests know what's happening. It is a time when we visit the museums and galleries and enjoy a round of golf or that last boat ride. You can try them, too. Come stay with us we will make your favorite White Lace Inn breakfast; just let us know and we'll put it on the menu. Try the recipe of the month, Bonnie's Chocolate Zucchini Muffins at home for your family to enjoy. Stay with us and you can indulge in our world-renown homemade White Lace Inn Chocolate Heath Bar Cookies. The cookie jar in the parlor is bottomless! well ... almost ...
We have vacancies in September and we are offering
great rates! Live Music, Popcorn and Beverages, compliments of Dennis and Bonnie, every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm! The well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlor picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings, year 'round. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in. Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long relaxing weekend you deserve!
Here
are a few more September happenings around the Door:
Visit the Dancing Bear Gift Shop and have Michele or Marty show you the latest new products. Known for their unique items, this one-of-a-kind gift store has kids' toys, games and books as well as specialty soaps, lotions, Hadley Pottery, greeting cards and so much more. Pick up a Dancing Bear t-shirt or sweatshirt and be the envy of all your friends back home. The Dancing Bear Shop has become one of the places to visit on 3rd Avenue, in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay.
