The beautiful foliage that October brings us every year is quickly falling as November arrives. The true signs that November has come to Sturgeon Bay are the empty marinas, fewer visitors to our county, the 1,000 foot lake freighters that will start to settle in for the winter at the shipyards and the quiet peacefulness that signifies the end of our busy season and the beginning of the holiday festivities.

But before you get any ideas that there is not much to do here in the last months of the year, think again! Our museums have changing exhibits that represent the best our county has to offer. Arts and crafts fairs, concerts, parades, holiday home tours and Christmas by the Bay are just a few of the many activities that you will see on the agenda for November. In addition, we always have the fabulous state and county parks to hike or bike. Bundle up in your sweater or jacket and take a stroll along the Sturgeon Bay waterfront. Watch the workers as they begin construction of the new bridge, with completion expected by the fall of 2008. Visit our local shops and check out the end of season specials. Return from the activities to your room at the White Lace Inn and enjoy your fireplace and whirlpool. Grab a mug of hot chocolate and a cookie and relax before you head out to dinner at one of our many great restaurants. Ask the innkeeper to make a recommendation and a reservation for you. "Concierge-R-Us" Ask us a question - We will come up with an answer. Then in the morning enjoy one of the terrific breakfasts created in our kitchen. Start with a fresh brewed cup of Door County Coffee or tea and then get ready for a Cheesy egg bake, Stuffed French Toast or one of another of our delicious breakfast entrees. Homemade muffins or bread and a side dish complete this perfect start to your day. Try the recipe of the month, Hot Cocoa Mix , and enjoy it at home all winter.

Live Music, Popcorn and Beverages, compliments of Dennis and Bonnie, every Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9:30pm! Well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlour picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in. Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long weekend you deserve!
