October is departing and is taking most of the fall foliage with it as we welcome November and the beginning of the holiday season. Visitors are fewer this time of year and the shops less crowded. The last of the boats are leaving the marinas for the season and, in another month, we will start to see the 1000 foot lakers entering the shipyards for their winter break. It is a good time to start that holiday shopping; perhaps you could catch a sale or two before all the shelves are stocked with Christmas items. If you are looking for a really big craft show, Southern Door hosts the largest one in Door County under one roof on November 4th with over 180 booths. Then Sturgeon Bay's annual Christmas by the Bay event kicks off the season on November 16-18. Starting Friday with a brilliant Christmas tree lighting ceremony and throughout the weekend, the whole family will love the Santa parade and a hay ride or leisurely trolley ride. The children will enjoy photos and brunch with Santa along with many other activities. Reserve a room at the White Lace Inn and you can walk to all the festivities. Then return to the quiet solitude of your favorite room, grab a hot chocolate along the way, start that fireplace and rest up before enjoying dinner at one of our local restaurants or pubs. Have your innkeeper recommend a place and call for a reservation for you. Almost everything in Sturgeon Bay is open year 'round. Our 25th anniversary year is coming to an end and it has been quite the year. Thank you to old and new friends who helped us celebrate this milestone. Thanksgiving this year is truly a time for us to express our gratitude to all of our guests for a memorable 25 year run. We have loved being a part of your life and hope to see you many more times over the years to come. |

We embrace November in Door County and look forward to the holiday window dressings as businesses and homes are "beginning to look a lot like Christmas". Come stay with us this month and we will make your favorite White Lace Inn breakfast; just let us know and we'll put it on the menu. Try the recipe of the month, Pumpkin Nut Bread , at home for your family to enjoy. While you are here, indulge in our world-renown homemade White Lace Inn Chocolate Heath Bar Cookies. The cookie jar in the parlor is bottomless! well ... almost ...
We have vacancies in November - December and we
are offering great rates! Live Music, Popcorn and Beverages, compliments of Dennis and Bonnie, every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm! The well traveled contemporary acoustic folk music group, Random Orbit, continues hanging around our parlor picking tunes for guests and friends on Thursday evenings, year 'round. Although they have been "off the road" for some years now, their music style remains relaxed yet somehow "painfully" intricate. Guests are always welcome to join in. Just one more reason to take a Friday off, book a room and have that long relaxing weekend you deserve!
Here are a few more November happenings
around the Door County Peninsula:
